Hi, I am trying to remove shared email accounts from Outlook. I have followed the instructions of 'File, Account Settings, Account Settings, and selecting the email account. Problem is, the email accounts I want to delete/remove do not even show up. I have tried simply right clicking the email account and deleting, but that too does not work.

Any tips as I have a few I need to remove? Thank you.

    Hello MSulli,

    Good day to you and thanks for your post in this Microsoft community.

    Regarding your issue, first of all would like to confirm how shared email accounts added in your Outlook, such as added manually or added automatically with automapping feature?

    This above information is required, because if it was added manually, it will be show from more account settings under “Advance tab”. We have observed that you already checked account settings, so would like to confirm, have you also check from Advance tab under account settings? If you haven’t check with it, kinldy follow the below steps and confirm.

    • Open Outlook > go to File > Account Settings > select your account > go to More settings > select Advanced tab > under Mailboxes, check if shared email account visible there, if yes, select Remove option to remove it.

    Screenshot for your reference:

    If shared mailbox account not visible in Advance tab (as per above steps), it should be added in your Outlook with automapping feature. When we have full access permission on shared email account and if automapping is enable, then it will automatically added in user’s Outlook. In such situation, to remove shared email account, you need to disable permission first and need re-assign permission with disable automapping. For this, you need to contact your Microsoft365 admin. For details, please check Remove automapping for a shared mailbox - Outlook | Microsoft Docs.

    Thank you so much for your precious time. Stay safe and healthy.

    Sincerely,

    To respond for the OP as I am having the same issue,

    These instructions are exactly what we are doing to remove the shared mailbox.

    However, we come across an error that states the following;

    Myself and the OP have also done the same steps as you described above and they DO NOT show anything to remove.
