Launching Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
If I open Edge just after statup it automatically opens another window. I've tried waiting for Edge to open at startup but this seems to happen sporadically so I can't figure out the behaviour here. Is there a way to prevent Edge from opening two windows or preventing it opening automatically at startup?

Hello ex-jedi, my name is Farah and I'm an Independent Adviser. I can help you regarding this problem
I Assume that you are talking about the Chromium Edge and not the legacy
edge://settings/onStartup
Check the options there, and select open a new tab as the default option.
edge://settings/system
Make sure there as well, that no running background apps are remains when Edge closes
Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved

Thanks for the tip.
I found that the option selected in my browser was to open multiple tabs.
My homepage was listed twice.
I just had to delete the second listing.
At the top of the small screen you described in the corner, there is an "X," the symbol microsoft uses for "close." next to that, there is a "+" and next to that there is a blue "^"
The "^" is the symbol to slide up. Click the blue "^" and it will slide the larger window up and get rid of whatever this preview thing is.
Hope that helps
Great, I am glad that worked. If you don't have any more questions, feel free to choose a rating and have a great day!
Thanks seems to have done the trick. Thanks Farah.
