Does anyone know why MS Edge seems to update every day?

It does update every day, at least a dozen times every single day. It's annoying that you can't disable the big green UPDATE button. I just had 4 updates today alone, its been doing this the past few weeks.

I think I found a reason why my PCs ask so frequently to update Edge. We have multiple users logged on simultaneously, and typically Edge is running in each login instance. I just went into the settings and did a manual update from there, and received the following message "Microsoft Edge couldn’t update because it might still be running on your device under another Windows account. Please close all Microsoft Edge browser windows and try again."

So apparently every time that I thought I was updating, it probably wasn't, and it never provided the error message when using the green "update" icon at the upper right. So when it checks again, it still needs an update, because the previous attempt didn't work. I just shut down Edge in the other logged in accounts, and tried the update again, and this time it popped up a tab with What's new in Edge, apparently it worked this time.

So if you've got multiple login accounts active simultaneously, be sure to shut down the other instances of Edge before updating.

This March '25 I have had work interrupted 15 days for updates either to EDGE or Windows O?S 11

It may not be every day. However, it does seem to be more frequent, as I have updated it almost every day. Potentially, 2/4, 2/5, 2/6 now has an update, but prior to that, I do not recall, but I had updated the browser right before 2/4.
