With Office 365 installed, you shoul get a One Dirve folder. When you split your DB, choose the One Drive folder as your Backend location. At this poin, you can share your DB with any user on that computer. Make sure you set up the shared option for Read and Write. To share in another computer, you must have your One Drive folder in that computer too. Then, follow the same steps as you did with the first computer. Remember, you can only share your DB if your One Drive folder is in that computer. I have Office 365 home edition and I successfuly shared my DB in five computers. With many users.
OneDrive & Access 2013 Database
I have an Access 2013 database (front end and back end in separate OneDrive folders). I would like to share this with other people. I emailed a "share" to the Access front end (tried twice: once with read permission, once with edit permission). When the person clicks on the OneDrive file, it downloads, it does not open. The person also has Access 2013 on their machine. Is it possible to have the MS Access 2013 front end file open (and connect to the back end which is in a separate OneDrive folder), not download?
Please help. Several people need the information in the Access 2013 database app, but we are at different locations in the country. Not sure how to share this.

2015-09-14T14:48:20+00:00 Sharing an Access database in this manner is highly ill advised! You are effectively trying to share a db over a WAN (WWW) and this simply isn't possible with Access.
You need to use the appropriate technology for sharing with people remotely, such as:
- Create an Access Web App (AWA - accessible through the internet and a web browser)
- Use Terminal Services, CITRIX, Remote Desktop
You may also wish to read my brief article on the subject which can be found at: http://www.devhut.net/2012/08/14/ms-access-wans-wireless-networks-and-the-internet/

I absolutely agree with Daniel Pineault. However, I was just referring to this question from nulady111**:** Is it possible to have the MS Access 2013 front end file open (and connect to the back end which is in a separate OneDrive folder), not download? And yes, it is possible. Is it a good solution? Not at all. I would like to mention that I have done this with an Access DB that I created to manage my own house hold expenses. I share it with my kids and wife . If I lose any data on this database, I would not be losing much. However, I would not and I do not recommend to do this to run your small business application this way. Daniel, thank you so much for clarifying the missing pieces of the puzzle. Have a wonderful day.
