Windows 11 is designed to use any free memory to cache frequently used data. This behavior isn’t necessarily a bug, since, if you launch a memory‐intensive application, the system is programmed to free up that memory quickly.
Compared to earlier versions of Windows, Windows 11 is optimized for systems with abundant memory. It doesn’t “waste” RAM in the conventional sense; instead, it uses unused memory to improve performance. As a result, your Task Manager might show higher usage even though performance isn’t actually suffering.
