Download folder isn't responding

Hi, whenever I open download folder and select any file, the file explorer hangs and says (not responding).

What should I do?

    Greetings! I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

    To start with, please execute following steps and let me know (You might need to do last point)

    1. CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to start Task Manager

    Locate Windows Explorer in Processes tab > Right Click > End Task

    Now at the top File > Run new task > Put explorer.exe and Enter

    Do you have a lot of files in your downloads folder? If you do, try deleting some that you don't need. If you can't delete the files, try using another program that has a built-in file explorer like WinRAR or 7-Zip. The example below is using 7-Zip. Please keep us updated on the situation.

    no, I don't have a lot of files in the download folder. 

    I copied download folder , but this folder also behaves same

    no, I don't have a lot of files in the download folder.

    Do you have any large files then? Large files like disk images can sometimes cause the folder to become unresponsive. Also try emptying the downloads folder and see if anything improves. Please keep us updated on anything that happens.
