I have no sound on my Asus Laptop (Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. |  | K73E Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30GHz | CPU 1 | 782/100mhz.)  I have Windows 7 64 bit.  I use Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Version 1.75.0.1300.  Neither one is showing any issues.   I has ASUS assist me on restoring the BIOS and installing the Chipset driver and Audio driver.  They said I should mail it to them but it is out of warranty.  I've followed the help on the Microsoft website for no sound.  My audio card is not showing it has an issue.  I have tried a headset and I am unable to hear any sound.  I can play any videos except YouTube which error out.  If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.   Otherwise I'll have to take it into a computer shop to get fixed.  Right now I need my computer as I am searching for a job.  Thank you.

Ok I had similar problem and it was actually a lot easier to resolve then I thought. Maybe it will work for you.

Right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner

    Click Playback Devices

    Click on the Speakers

    Click into Properties

    Click Advanced

    Then click Restore Defaults

    Worked for me, good luck

    Hello Michele,

Thank You for posting the query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that the you have issues in playing video from youTube website.

But, I would need more information on this issue to help you better.

    1. Are you able to play  videos that are saved on the computer?

I un-installed and re-installed the sound card driver by using your method 1 and I still have no sound on my computer.

I tested the You Tube video in compatibly view using method 2 and it still starts the video and then it goes to black static with the same error message: An error occurred please try again later.

I also did method 3 and it Microsoft Silverlight shows enable but not under the Run without Permissions list.  This is also the same for Shockwave Active X Control and Shockwave Flash Object.  I am not sure how to fix this.  The Java updates are under this list and enabled.  Enhanced protected mode is on but it did not help when it was off.

I also did method 4 and I can’t find a down load on the adobe site for the Adobe Flash Player 10.1.  I have the adobe flash player 12,0,0,38 and adobe shockwave player 12.0.7r148.

    Thanks for your help.

I still do not have not sound on my computer at all no matter what I am doing.  I still am unable to play youtube videos.

Here are the answers to your questions above:

    1.  I am able to play videos that are saved on the computer.  Just no sound.   I can play news videos and other videos on websites unless it is a youtube video.

    2.  On you tube the videos start to play and it goes to a static screen stating An error occurred, please try again later. Learn more.

    1. There is no sound at all on my computer. Windows, computer and all videos.
    2. Internet explorer 11.  I also tried on Mozilla Firefox and I get the same issue.

    5.  The changes that were made were made by the Microsoft mr fix it for no sound.

Method 1-I followed and checked everything but it did not help.

Method 2-I updated the drivers but it did not help.

Method 3-The settings are correct but it did not help.

Method 4-I followed everything and am still having the same issue.
