We have followed all the online help suggestions for fixing the touchpad issues, everything is updated as per suggestions.

Even reset the touchpad in settings, but then the mouse cursor disappeared.

keyboard & touchpad is connected to Surface Pro (2017) (5th gen.)

What else can help???

Thanks!

    HI RosemaryTlusty,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

If you already followed all the suggested troubleshooting steps online including resetting the device back to factory settings but the touchpad still doesn't work, then this simply means that you need a new typecover to get this problem be taken cared of. This means that the touchpad of the typecover is already defective if in case you already reset the device. In the event that you haven't reset the device yet, you can reset it but it's best if you can try using another typecover/keyboard so we can distinguish if  the existing typecover is indeed defective in that way, it's going to be hassle free for you to retrieve your files.

The same issues is with my surface book 1. Mouse cursor disappears  and even the touch screen will not respond to touch but the screen is alive and keyboard works. I vend did a factory rest, still the problem persists.

    Hi RajeshKoottala,

Thanks for raising this concern of yours in the MS Community.

If you did a factory reset already but the issue still exists, then this simply means that the typecover is already having a hardware issue and the best resolution I can recommend is to get a replacement for that typecover.  Simply because If the issue was just due to the Windows update, like what was shared in this post, it could have been resolved after doing factory reset or uninstalling the updates.

If this helps, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if you need further assistance.
