Failure to download file in mobile Edge browser

I use my Edge browser on my Android mobile phone for years and works very well. Recently, I cannot successfully download any files from visiting webpages, not specific page. download starts and fails without any error message. Can someone help me diagnose this problem. Is there any setting change due to auto updates?

    With the mobile app, usually the first step I would recommend to try is uninstalling and then reinstall the app from the Play Store.

    Just to rule out any issues with the network or connection, do you encounter any issues using another browser such as Chrome?

    No, my other two browsers including Chrome are fine to download files in webpages. It seems there is a setting to restrict my download!

    The only other thing I can think of is if you are logged in to Edge with a school or work account it could be restricting downloads?
