I am currently using Acer Swift 3 Windows 10. This laptop has two storages which are SSD and HDD. Every time I download or transfer any files from my pen drives, the files will be saved in SSD. I do not know how to save in HDD. I want to save in HDD because it has larger spaces compared to SSD. How to transfer my current files in SSD to HDD and how to make HDD as my default storage? Please help me solve this. Thank you.

    Hi yellowhoody

In the following, I am presuming the HDD is Drive D, if it is not, please replace where necessary

    Open Windows File Explorer

On the top right, right click your Documents library folder and choose Properties

    Choose the Location tab

In the Location Box, type D:\Documents

Then click Apply and OK and confirm that move

That will move your Documents folder to the HDD

Do the same for Pictures, Music and Videos, each time change the folder location, for example Pictures will go to D:\Pictures

When that is done all your personal folders will be moved to your HDD and all files copied into them will automatically go to your HDD, not your SSD. And you will have a lot more free space on your SSD

    That's It!

See DaveM121's reply and let me add that transferring files from one drive to another is exactly the same regardless of whether any of the drives are HD or SSD.
