Hi,

I got my free Windows 10 upgrade ysterday and it installed with no errors or issues. Everything works fine, all devices have their drivers installed, I did not install any additional driver or application since I upgraded yesterday. The issue is with the new Xbox app, when I try to run it it pops up for a second and crashes. I found the following error in Windows event viewer:

Log Name:      Application

</Event>

All other applications desktop and modern style work fine except for Xbox.

I then went and opened the store to see if there is any update available for it and indeed there was an update yet it failed to install. There is a message that says (Try that again) and a see details link next to it. Viewing the details shows the following message:

Try that again

Something went wrong

The error code is 0x80073B0F, in case you need it.

Can someone tell me how to fix this.

PS, sorry if this is in the wrong category, I am trying to post the question under Windows/Apps on Windows 10/Other Apps but the system wont let me do that

Finally I have found a solution and now XBOX and all other apps work fine.

I asked the same question on superusr and someone gave me this solution so I cannot take credit for it.

Open Windows PowerShell as an administrator and run the following:

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

This takes sometime to process but once its done I ran the app and it opened with no issues, I then went ahead and updated it and the update took seconds to complete.

All other apps are working just fine.

This will reset all your store app settings so you will need to sign in and reconfigure apps once the command finishes

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand your inconvenience. We will assist you with it.

    Follow the methods provided below.

    Method 1: Disable Antivirus software

Disable the Antivirus software temporarily and check if it helps.

**Note:**Antivirus software can help protect the computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time the antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

After disabling the Antivirus, try to install the Xbox update and check.

If the issue still persist, follow method 2.

Method 2: Reset the Windows Store cache.

Follow the steps to reset the Windows Store cache

    1. Press Windows Key + R key.
    2. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter Key.

Your Windows Store cache will be reset. Check if the is resolved.

    Didn't fix my issue either.

Splash screen shows than closes, the app never starts.

Tried uninstalling it but the button is greyed out as is the move button.

The store has a 48mb download but keep getting the following message:

    Try that again

    Something went wrong

    The error code is 0x80073B0F

Event log is exactly the same as TheDahaka7 mentioned at the start of this thread.

Unfortunately this did not work, I disabled Windows Defender which is the only Anti Virus software installed on my computer. I also tried the wsreset method and it did not do a thing. I actually tried wsreset a couple of times and I noticed something weird. Every time I did a wsreset, it opens the App Store and then I search for Xbox and try to download it. Each time it gives me a different download size, the first time I did it the store reported that the download is 48 MB, the second time it reported it as 96 MB, the third time it was 59 MB. And each time it reaches the install phase and then report the same error:

    Try that again

    Something went wrong

The error code is 0x80073B0F, in case you need it.
