Increase Contrast in Microsoft Edge

I want to be able to increase the contrast in Edge.  I saw this:

Use high contrast for better readability

To turn on high-contrast mode, press Left Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen on your keyboard. Or, select Start  > Settings  > Ease of Access  > High contrast. Under Use high contrast, set the Turn on high contrast toggle to On. Choose a theme, select a high contrast theme, and then select Apply.

This changes the contrast for Windows...not just Edge.  Chrome has a separate button that increases contrast on ONLY the browser.

Does Edge have something like this?

Microsoft Edge | Other | Windows 10

You can use also the same extension from google chrome also in Edge, as Edge can accept extensions from Chrome.

    type this in Edge:

    edge://extensions/

Choose from down left, Allow Extensions from other stores.

Then go to Google chrome and search for the contrast extension "link can be found here"

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/high-...

you can click to add to chrome, and Edge will get the extension directly.

Let me know if you need further assistance

    Farah,

This is the one that worked best for me.  I really like simply turning on the Chrome extension.  I never would have known about the "Allow Extensions from other stores" option.  Thank you so much!!

I'm enjoying this newer version of Edge.  I saw a post somewhere saying this is running better than the old one and is much faster.  I didn't believe that, but now that I've used it for a day or so, I have to agree. :)

    Thank you!!

Hello v015eyjd, my name is Farah and I'm an Independent Adviser. I can help you regarding this problem

I'm personally not aware if this is possible without turning windows into High contrast mode, But I use another workaround to modify the color profile in Edge:

Open a new tab in edge and type the following:

    edge://flags/#enable-force-dark

There you can choose a color profile, for me I enabled selective inversion of non-image elements.

I have Dark mode enabled and it reflect on all websites not only Edge as a browser.

Let me know f this workaround works for you

    Cheers!

    Farah

When I entered in the command on a new tab, I saw at the top it said this:

    Experiments                                                                                                                                   79.0.309.71

WARNING: EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES AHEAD! By enabling these features, you could lose browser data or compromise your security or privacy. Enabled features apply to all users of this browser.

I suspect that's simply a warning and will likely not affect me, but my preference is to go with the second method suggested here in my last response.  I tried it and that works perfectly fine.  I like the way it works in Chrome, and now it works here exactly the same way.

Thank you for posting a reply though.  I will save it and refer back to it should I find I want to use it.  There looks to be a lot of interesting other stuff there.  Something might come in handy some day.
