OneNote 365 "Keep Text Only" as default paste option no longer available? How to Ctrl-V paste text ?

Currenlty, after each copy paste from Webpages, the pasted colors (fill and font color) don't contrast enough on OneNote Page.

To make them visible, I have two options:

  1. modify colors (fill and font)
  2. add Paste Text to QAT; IMHO, there are two disadvantages.
    1. footprint on QAT compromising ease of using other QAT shortcuts
    2. slower to find, point and click on QAT than Ctrl-V

However, Microsoft must have reason for removing paste Text as default. There must be a better paste method...

Questions on how to avoid manually change color of pasted content:

  1. Ctrl-V paste text ? Or
  2. setup OneNote page color ?
  3. alternatives such as VBA?

TQ!

    Hi Sunny.

Nice having you in Microsoft community.

I just tried to find ways I can set copy and paste in my OneNote 2016 advanced setting configurations and unfortunately, I could not find this option there. However, there is a quick and efficient method to paste into OneNote 2016. Just right-click on the location where you want to paste your content and press T. It will only paste with Text.

I have seen this to be convenient and time saving.

Anyway, the best solution to this problem is to alert the product and engineering team to be aware of the problem by sending feedback. In your OneNote 2016, go to File > Feedback. The feedback you provide goes directly to the product and engineering team.

    Regards,
    Christophe

Your suggestion "However, there is a quick and efficient method to paste into OneNote 2016. Just right-click on the location where you want to paste your content and press T. It will only paste with Text." only paste Letter T , not Clipboard content, into my OneNote 365. Is there another way?

    Hi Sunny,

May I know how you did it? In my test, I just copy  content and then move the mouse in OneNote 2016 where I want my content to pasted, right-click and then press letter “T” on my keyboard.

Meanwhile, you can also right-click on the notebook page>select the Keep Text Only  option to see the result.

Looking forward to hear from your updates.

    Regards,

    Christophe

    Hi Sunny,

May I know where you are copying the content from? This is because whenever I copied a text from another source and pasted it into OneNote, I would be provided the pasting window which I showed above.

This will help me troubleshoot this problem further and do the test at my end to check the behavior. (Please share the source link for copying the content)

In addition, we want to collect your OneNote version. In your OneNote, go to File > Account > Product information and give us a full screenshot (remember to hide your personal information for your privacy).

    Regards,
    Christophe
