Everything I had typed in the last few days is no longer in my document. I am not sure how I can get it back.

    Hi Lilopez

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Have you tried using the “Recover Unsaved Documents” feature. Here’s how:

Start Word. Go to the File tab and select Manage Document. Select the Manage Document button. Choose Recover Unsaved Documents from the drop-down list. The Open dialog box appears, showing you a list of unsaved Word documents that you can recover. Select the Word document you want to recover, then select Open. Save the recovered document right away.

If this method doesn’t work, there are other methods you can try such as searching for AutoRecover files, searching for Word backup files, checking the Recycle Bin, restarting Word to open AutoRecover files, and searching for temporary files

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas

    Hi Anna,

Sorry to disappoint you, but Microsoft Word does not have a File Tab nor is there an option to "Manage Document" on the File menu.

Perhaps you are confusing Microsoft Word with some other software, perhaps Google docs?

    Hi LilopezKY

Sorry about Anna's reply. Anna apparently does not have Microsoft Word or is hopelessly confused.

Use the Menu Bar and choose File > New From Template. This will display the Templates gallery. In the left panel click the Recent button. Look for the file name of the document you saved. The file path to the most recently saved version will be listed, and clicking on that file in the gallery will open the most recently saved version.
