We are happy to announce the availability of the Data Science Virtual Machine on Azure Germany.

Microsoft's Data Science Virtual Machine (DSVM) is a family of popular VM images published on Azure with a broad choice of machine learning, AI and data science tools. All the tools are pre-configured giving you a ready-to-use, on-demand, elastic environment in the cloud to help you perform data analytics and AI development productively. You focus less on IT administrative tasks and more on your data science with the DSVM.

The DSVM is offered on the Azure Germany Cloud in both Windows Server 2016 as well as Linux (Ubuntu) edition. They can be deployed on a wide range of VM instance sizes available on Azure Germany Cloud depending on the size of your datasets used for analytics and training machine learning or deep learning models. The DSVM has pre-installed several popular deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Microsoft Cognitive toolkit, Keras, Caffe2, mxnet, Chainer you can use to productively build AI applications. There is a rich set of tools and libraries for Machine learning, data ingestion and exploration, connectivity to various Azure data services, Jupyter notebooks for browser based experimentation, development environment for languages like Python, R, C#, Java, nodejs. A full list of tools available on the DSVM can be found here.

Data Science VM only incurs the base compute charges depending on the Azure VM instance size. There are no other software charges. So you pay the same usage charges for a DSVM as you do for a standard Windows 2016 or Ubuntu Linux VM. (Note: Separate license is required to use SQL Server / Microsoft ML Server components on the DSVM for production purposes).

We invite you to try out the Data Science VM on Azure for your next ML or AI project and training/education. You can engage with the development team and the growing DSVM user community on our forums.

We are happy to announce the general availability of Azure Media Services in Azure Germany.

Microsoft Azure Media Services is an extensible cloud-based platform that enables developers to build scalable media management and delivery applications. Media Services is based on REST APIs that enable you to securely upload, store, encode, and package video or audio content for both on-demand and live streaming delivery to various clients (for example, TV, PC, and mobile devices).

You can build end-to-end workflows using entirely Media Services. You can also choose to use third-party components for some parts of your workflow. For example, encode using a third-party encoder. Then, upload, protect, package, deliver using Media Services.

Further information is available on the Azure documentation site: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/media-services-overview

Azure Backup and Site Recovery generally available in Azure Germany

We are happy to announce the general availability of Azure Backup and Site Recovery in Azure Germany. This services enable you to easily backup your VMs or your on-premise data into Azure Germany and have the peace of mind that your data will remain within Germany and is protected by a German company operating under German law.

Here are just two ways these services can help you:

Use Azure Germany as Your Sovereign Backup Storage

Use Azure Backup to simply backup all your data to the cloud and be sure it will never leave Germany. You can backup clients, servers, the system state of your servers, on premise Microsoft SQL, Exchange and SharePoint server to Azure Germany. And if your servers are already running on Azure Germany, you can back them up as well.

Interested? Have a look at the documentation for this service.

Use Azure as Your Disaster Recovery Region

Azure Site Recovery enables you to setup a disaster recovery (DR) region in Azure Germany so you don't have to setup an entire new region or backup your data on tapes and disks and ship them to a vault in another region. Just use Site Recovery for this.

We are pleased to announce the availablility of Azure Documentation for Azure Germany. Starting April 22nd we added a new branch to the Azure Documentation pages to describe the differences developers and IT professionals have to take into consideration when accessing Azure Germany. When opening the Azure Documentation pages, select the last topic "Other Clouds", and - aligning with Azure Government and Azure Stack - you will find the starting point for Azure Germany. If not, please change your browser language to English at the bottom of the page or use this link (localization of those pages is at work).

The documentation already covers Compute, Network, Storage articles as well as web apps, database, IoT and a lot more, and will continue to grow in the next weeks.

We hope you find this pages usefull for your journey to Azure Germany. We would like to encourage you to send us your feedback about those articles as well as suggestions for further documentation, either here or at the bottom of each of the Azure Documentation pages.

As for other Azure regions there is also a list of IP ranges used in our German datacenters as public addresses. This can be necessary if you want to give those addresses a special handling in your firewall settings for example. Since those ranges can change from time to time, here is the direct link to the download, and for further information a crosslink to Daniel's blog about the same issue. If you are also interested in the address ranges for global Azure datacenters, here is what you're looking for...

%temp%\servicehub
und alles darunter löschen (
rmdir /S/Q %temp%\servicehub
)

%localappdata%\.IdentityService\AadConfigurations\AadProvider.Configuration.json
. Sollte das Verzeichnis nicht existieren, einfach anlegen
{
"AuthenticationQueryParameters":null,
"AsmEndPoint":"https://management.microsoftazure.de/",
"Authority":"https://login.microsoftonline.de/",
"AzureResourceManagementEndpoint":"https://management.microsoftazure.de/",
"AzureResourceManagementAudienceEndpoints":["https://management.core.cloudapi.de/"],
"ClientIdentifier":"872cd9fa-d31f-45e0-9eab-6e460a02d1f1",
"EnvironmentName":"BlackForest",
"GraphEndpoint":"https://graph.cloudapi.de",
"MsaHomeTenantId":"f577cd82-810c-43f9-a1f6-0cc532871050",
"NativeClientRedirect":"urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob",
"PortalEndpoint":"https://portal.core.cloudapi.de/",
"ResourceEndpoint":"https://management.core.cloudapi.de/",
"ValidateAuthority":true,
"VisualStudioOnlineEndpoint":"https://app.vssps.visualstudio.com/",
"VisualStudioOnlineAudience":"499b84ac-1321-427f-aa17-267ca6975798"
}
