MEDC Day 1 - The OFone gets announced!

MEDC Day One was fun today!  The Keynote this morning by Robbie Bach was absolutely packed (as you can probably see from the picture above!)

During the Keynote Derek Snyder did some very cool demos showing some of the work we are doing in the next release of Visual Studio 'Orcas'.  Derek also showed Silverlight running on a Windows Mobile Device to demonstrate how you can have the same experience from PC to Mobile Device.   Nothing was formally announced on availability for this however it does show our intent to clearly provide this.

Mike Hall then showed how the CE and Embedded side of the story was developing showcasing some of the .NET Microframework capabilities for in-home solutions as well a very impress in-store terminal for 'Crate and Barrell'

Finally there was a fun side with a great spoof video where we 'announced' the Ofone.

This device had a circular screen and it was hillarious to listen to Mel Sampat explaining how developers now need to query the screen radius and circumference in their multiple screen resolution applications :)

Seattle Pi has a whole story on this 'spoof' announcement!

I'm trying to convince the team to get the video on YouTube or Soapbox... come on guys!
