What are the best Windows Mobile applications? What would you demo?

On Monday we've got a press day around Windows Mobile. I'm due to give a presentation on both Windows Mobile 6 as well as an application showcase.

I want to show case the coolest/greatest Windows Mobile applications that exist!

So far I've got a short(long)list of:

  • Minimixa
  • SportsDo
  • Slingplayer Mobile
  • Business Card Scanner
  • Communicator Mobile
  • Windows Live Search
  • OneNote Mobile
  • Microsoft CRM
  • Deepfish

So what would you show? I'd love to get your comments on applications I should demo!

What about some popular business apps like Pocket Informant Rev 3 (which has WM6 support), VoiceMinder?

Interesting list! Links to their homepages would have been nice since I had problem finding some in Google. While it's not a Windows Mobile application, I use to show Orb on my WM device when I like to impress people. Orb is a media streamer server that you install on your Windows PC and then you can access all your media from your device. You use Pocket IE to browse your media (The interface looks great, I think it's adapted for PDA) and it plays in Pocket WMP. I can listen to all my music, see all my pictures, play all my videos and recorded TV-programs, I can even see live TV as I have a TV-card and Windows Media Center 2005 on my computer.

I would definitely vouch for Newsgator Mobile. One of the best feed readers on the market. There's also TomTom. The true "killer app" for mobiles. And then there's Office Mobile in Windows Mobile 6. Office Mobile totally rocks. Voice Command -- tricky to demo, but still a brilliant application.

I'm not saying this to be petty, but TCPMP puts the Windows Media Player Mobile to shame. Supports so many formats and is very easy to use. Fizz Weather is pretty good also.

What about mindmapping? Since Mindmanager doesn't support mobile devices any longer, pocket mindmap is state of the art - in fact it was long before ;-) full featured test version at http://www.pocketmindmap.com JayDee

Seems all the best apps are on here already. I'd second The Core Player (TCPMP) and Newsgator Go though.

I'd show Picsel Browser rather than Deepfish I've tried both. With Deepfish being pre-beta right now PB is a better demo http://www.picsel.com/index.php/solutions/view/C11/

I really like the "NOW" screen" in SPB Mobile Shell. SPB Mobile Shell helps me use my fat fingers more effeciently. = )

I would consider Worldmate as well: a great tool if you have to book flights which picks up its data from a webservice. That is the power of a good architecture (partially disconnected, will update on demand or when connected through activesync) and good integration (can export flight schedules to your calendar). I was a big fan of Live Search and still use it. But at the risk of sounding contrary, I would actually include Google Maps. More at http://www.google.com/gmm It is a downloadable app for Windows Mobile standard and professional, and many of the features are very similar to Msft Live Search. But the maps and traffic etc seem much better.
