Der eintägige Hands-on Labs Workshop vermittelt den Teilnehmern ein tiefes Wissen über das Konzept, um existierende Desktop Applikationen mit Hilfe der Universal Windows Plattform zu konvertieren und mit neuen Kanälen, wie Windows Store and Windows Store for Business oder auch bestehende Kanäle, wie System Center Configuration Manager oder Intune, auszurollen.

Module 1: Introduction to the Desktop Bridge and the conversion process

•The Desktop Bridge and the basic concepts
• The packaging environment provided by the Universal Windows Platform: how does it work?
• Converting an installer or a self-executable application using the Desktop App Converter by Microsoft
• Converting an installer using a 3rd party tool
• Integrating the application with File Explorer in Windows

Module 2: Universal Windows Platform apps deployment

• Deploying an app to consumers using the Windows Store
• Deploying an app in an enterprise environment using the Windows Store for Business
• Deploying an app in an enterprise environment using Intune
• Deploying an app in an enterprise environment using System Center Configuration Manager *Hands on Lab Module is specific to deploying a converted application using System Center Configuration Manager

Module 3: Enhance a converted desktop

• Adding Universal Windows Platform APIs to a desktop application
• Maintain the same code base both for a traditional desktop application and the converted version
• Use Visual Studio 2017 to generate, publish and debug a converted desktop application
• Use the Store APIs to monetize a converted desktop application on the Store
