Join Microsoft Technical Fellow Dave Campbell and learn how to use SQL Azure and Windows Azure storage services in your cloud applications.

· 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. – Channel9 Cloud Cover Show Live

Join Steve Marx and Wade Wegner for this special live edition to see some fresh Windows Azure demos and hear answers to common Windows Azure questions.

· 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Developing Windows Azure Applications with Visual Studio

In this session, Jay Schmelzer will show you how to use Visual Studio to its full potential to develop, debug, and deploy cloud applications.

· 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. – Building Scalable Cloud Applications

Do you want to build applications that are highly scalable, loosely coupled, and highly available? Then tune in for this session to learn about key Windows Azure services and patterns from David Aiken.

New York University in Abu Dhabi organized a big Hackathon in Nov 2011, flying over 50 students from surrounding countries.

The Jordan University for Science & Technology (JUST) team (our MSP Hamza Kofahi was the team lead) got 1st place – creating a very nice Kinect Application.

The solution is a Game that helps with Physical Therapy exercises.

Our own Ghassan Chahine and Jeffry Avina were part of the judges.

Microsoft was the proud Gold Technology Sponsor of the first “TEDx Youth” in Amman (Nov 20, 2011) – official name is TEDxYouth@Amman. (The picture above does not show all the sponsors – for a complete list please see this page).

Each student who attended TEDx Youth got a Microsoft DreamSpark Access card. This card gave the student access to over $17,000 in software from www.DreamSpark.com. Did you miss the event? you can still register on the site.

Big thanks to the members of the Amman University and Jordan University Tech Clubs who volunteered at this exciting event for a full weekend.

 

The Microsoft Imagine Cup winner, Oasys, demontrated their solutions to the hundreds of attendees:

Every attending Student at TEDx (estimate 700+) got a DreamSpark.com registration card, which also had a YallaApps.com WP7 competition code:

Attendees got to try out Windows Phone 7 devices – in cooperation with Zain telecom. The MSPs showed the attendees how to use WP7 to access their Twitter and Facebook from TEDx:

Attendees also got to enjoy hours of fun with Xbox Kinect. Xbox booth was exceptionally popular!

The sessions at TEDx were amazing. The whole atmosphere of people attending and discussions taking place – was amazing. Great job organizing a very nice & useful event.
