One of the greatest things about being an MVP is getting to engage with global technical communities, whether it be through attending community events, connecting on Yammer, or through our very own MVP Award Blog and Twitter account. To keep these connections going strong - and to ignite new ones! - we’re pleased to share what our wonderful MVPs are up to around the world.
Today we head to Istanbul.
Almost 100 developers gathered at Microsoft Turkey earlier this month, to go deep and into detail about some awesome Microsoft technologies. Hosted by nine-time Microsoft Azure MVP Daron Yöndem, the full day community event took indie and enterprise developers alike through topics ranging from Xamarin, to Azure Functions.
“The objective of the event was to give speakers an opportunity to speak about any topic they want without being worried about attendance. That means, they can go into very deep and customized topics,” said Daron.
Based on the high attendance rate, engaging with customized topics seemed to be just what the audience was looking for. The event featured a total of 8 sessions, which were presented by Daron along with Visual Studio and Development Technologies MVP Yiğit Özaksüt and expert Software Developer Cihan Yakar. Sessions included:
- Advanced Custom Renderer in Xamarin
- Azure Functions and Serverless
- Working with Roslyn Code Analyzer on GitHub Repositories
- Xamarin and MVVM
- Microservices and Service Fabric
- Xamarin Prism
While online events have their own perks, Daron says offline events are important for creating that community bond. “[They] create a spark, leading developers to be community speakers on their own.”
