Warning
The Russian versions of Exam MS-100 and Exam MS-101 retired on February 28, 2023. All other languages will retire on July 31, 2023. A replacement exam, Exam MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator, will be available in May 2023.
The Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate certification will retire on June 30, 2023. It will continue to qualify as a prerequisite option for this certification until June 30, 2024 (one year after the certification has retired).
Candidates for this certification have expert-level skills in evaluating, planning, migrating, deploying, and managing Microsoft 365. They perform Microsoft 365 tenant-level planning, implementation, and administration of cloud and hybrid enterprise environments. Candidates for this certification have subject matter expertise in Microsoft 365 applications, infrastructure, and identity.
The Microsoft 365 enterprise administrator functions as the integrating hub for all Microsoft 365 workloads. This role coordinates across multiple Microsoft 365 workloads and advises the architects and workload administrators.
Candidates for this certification have functional experience with all Microsoft 365 workloads and Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), part of Microsoft Entra, and have administered at least one of these. They also have a working knowledge of networking, server administration, DNS, and PowerShell.

The English language version of this certification was updated recently. Exam MS-100 was updated on February 3, 2023, and Exam MS-101 was updated on November 2, 2022. Review the study guides linked on the exam pages for details about changes.

To become a Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, you must earn at least one of the following: Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate certification.
In May 2023, this certification will be renamed to Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate. Modern desktop administrators deploy, configure, secure, manage, and monitor devices and client applications in an enterprise environment.
The Microsoft 365 security administrator proactively secures identity and access, implements threat protection, manages information protection, and enforces compliance.
Microsoft 365 messaging administrators are responsible for managing recipients, mailboxes, transport, mail flow, administrative roles, threat protection, compliance, migrations, and client connectivity.
Microsoft Teams administrators deliver secure, efficient, and effective internal and external collaboration and communication capabilities with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365.
The Microsoft identity and access administrator designs, implements, and operates an organization’s identity and access management systems by using Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), part of Microsoft Entra. They configure and manage authentication and authorization of identities for users, devices, Azure resources, and applications.
