SignedXml.KeyInfo Property

Definition

Important

Some information relates to prerelease product that may be substantially modified before it’s released. Microsoft makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the information provided here.

Gets or sets the KeyInfo object of the current SignedXml object.

C#
public System.Security.Cryptography.Xml.KeyInfo KeyInfo { get; set; }

Property Value

The KeyInfo object of the current SignedXml object.

Examples

The following code example uses the KeyInfo object when signing a resource represented by a Universal Resource Identifier (URI). This example saves the signature in a new file.

C#
//
// This example signs a file specified by a URI
// using a detached signature. It then verifies
// the signed XML.

Remarks

The KeyInfo property represents the <KeyInfo> element of an XML digital signature using a KeyInfo object contained within the property. The <KeyInfo> element is a subelement of the <Signature> element.

Use the KeyInfo property to embed key-related information intended to help identify the key necessary for validating an XML document.

For more information about the <KeyInfo> element, see the XMLDSIG specification.
