ListView.OnSearchForVirtualItem(SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs) Method

Raises the SearchForVirtualItem event.

 virtual void OnSearchForVirtualItem(System::Windows::Forms::SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnSearchForVirtualItem (System.Windows.Forms.SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs e);
abstract member OnSearchForVirtualItem : System.Windows.Forms.SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnSearchForVirtualItem : System.Windows.Forms.SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnSearchForVirtualItem (e As SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs)

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnSearchForVirtualItem method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnSearchForVirtualItem(SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnSearchForVirtualItem(SearchForVirtualItemEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
