Business value
Organizations often need to categorize and report revenue from various sources. When you enable an extra category field for on-account transactions, you can post transactions to different financial accounts. This feature improves reporting accuracy and financial transparency.
Feature details
With this feature, you can assign specific project categories to project milestones or other on-account transaction types. These categories determine the financial account used for posting in both the general ledger and the project subledger. This setup supports more granular financial reporting.
Here are some examples of how this feature adds value:
- Assign a distinct general ledger account for customer advances that's separate from milestone revenue.
- Use different general ledger accounts for various milestone types, such as training, support, or software implementation.
You can use this functionality for stocked and production order deployment types in the Project Management and Accounting module.
