Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Project management and accounting > Inquiries > Transactions > Hour. In the Hour transactions form, click Ledger updates. In the Ledger updates form, select a transaction that includes indirect costs, and then click Review indirect costs.

Use this form to view indirect costs that were added to a project. Indirect costs are costs that are not directly attributable to the production of an item or to the performance of a service. Examples of indirect costs include electricity, office supplies, and rent.

Indirect cost amounts are calculated from the rates and compounding rules that you define for the related indirect cost component group. You can define compounding rules based on costs, sales price, or the total amount of an invoice. For example, you can define a cost-based compounding rule by setting the hourly rate for an indirect cost equal to the worker’s pay multiplied by a compounding rate for payroll benefits.
