What's new

The following table lists new features and changes for Enterprise Portal users. For a list of features and changes for Enterprise Portal administrators, see the What’s new topic for system administrators.

Important

The pages in Enterprise Portal are organized by Role Centers and module sites. Your ability to access Role Centers and module sites depends on how your Microsoft Dynamics AX administrator configured your role, security features, site permissions, and a new feature in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 called data partitioning. If a partition is specified, you are automatically redirected to the Enterprise Portal site and the partition configured by your administrator. If you attempt to log into Enterprise Portal and you have not been granted permission in the partition you receive an access denied message. If you receive an access denied message, speak with your Microsoft Dynamics AX administrator.

Enhanced grid views in Enterprise Portal

Grid views now enable you to move tasks by using a drag-and-drop operation, indent or negative-indent tasks, and select multiple rows at the same time. You can also export data from grids into Microsoft Office Excel, modify the data, and then import the data back into Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Connect Gadget for Role Centers

This version of Microsoft Dynamics AX includes the Dynamics Online Connect Gadget Web Part for Role Centers. The Web Part hosts a slide deck of links and information that is relevant to a user's role that includes links to CustomerSource, community content, training materials, and knowledgebase articles. A system administrator can add the Connect gadget to the Role Center master page, or users who have the appropriate permissions in SharePoint can add the Web Part to their personal Role Center page.
