Temporarily stop a running synchronization job. All the progress, including job state, is persisted, and the job continues from where it left off when a start call is made.

This API is available in the following national cloud deployments.

Permissions

Choose the permission or permissions marked as least privileged for this API. Use a higher privileged permission or permissions only if your app requires it. To configure application provisioning or HR-driven provisioning, the calling user must also be assigned at least the Application Administrator or Cloud Application Administrator directory role.

To configure Microsoft Entra Cloud Sync, the calling user must also be assigned at least the Hybrid Identity Administrator directory role.
