This page provides details on the available permissions, guidance on upgrading your access level, and instructions for requesting access to APIs and permissions.

What permissions are available?

In addition to these permissions, members must have the appropriate roles as defined in Company Page Roles and Ad Account Roles to act on or read data from a given Company Page or Ad Account. Note

  • Access to Advertising API is a mandatory requirement for applying to Matched Audiences API, Audience Insights API and Media Planning API.
  • Audience Insights API does not require any additional member permission to be passed in OAuth2 scope for member consent.

How to Upgrade your Access Tier

The Advertising API and Community Management API each have two access tiers with different access criteria. All applications start with Development tier. You will have to apply separately for Standard tier.

  • For Advertising API, Development tier is designed to build end-to-end workflows and supports read-only access for unlimited ad accounts and edit capabilities for up to five (5) Ad Accounts. Standard tier is designed to support campaign management solutions for multiple ad accounts.
  • For Community Management API, Development tier is designed to build and test integrations with API call restrictions; you are expected to complete your integration and testing within twelve months after you received API access. Standard tier is designed for live production with no restrictions.

  • Read: No limits on reading data related to Ad Accounts you administer
  • Create : Access to create 1 test Ad Account through the API. All real Ad Accounts must be created through the Campaign Manager tool in this tier.
  • Edit: Make updates related to up to 5 ad accounts that you administer.
  • Apply for access to Advertising API
    Advertising Standard Support campaign management for multiple ad accounts
  • Read : No limits on reading data for Ad Accounts you administer
  • Create : Create unlimited Ad Accounts
  • Edit : Make unlimited updates to Ad Accounts that you administer
  • The Standard API Access must be requested via a support ticket to be submitted on the Developer Support Portal.
    Community Management Development This is the default tier provisioned. Developers are expected to build core business use cases, using the provided permissions and APIs, within twelve (12) months of the provisioning. All APIs:
    • 100 API calls for an app for 24 hrs
    • 10 API calls per member per of an App for 24 hrs
    All APIs with BATCH_GET:
  • No API calls allowed
    • Webhook for Social Actions:
    • Push notifications disabled

    LinkedIn reserves the right to review applications and select partners at its discretion and a partner might not be upgraded even if they meet these minimum requirements.
