[MS-RDL]: Report Definition Language File Format

Specifies the file format for SQL Server Report Definition Language (RDL), a file type that is used to represent the metadata for defining a report.

This document has been updated to add the new optional authoring metadata feature to the RDL structure that is used to denote the tools that create and edit the document. This new feature is purely metadata and has no functional implications.

[MS-SSAS]: SQL Server Analysis Server Protocol

Specifies the SQL Server Analysis Services Protocol, which provides methods for a client to communicate with and to perform operations on an analysis server.

This document has been updated as follows:

  • Added a feature to ensure proper encryption to the Restore and to the RemoveDiscontinuedFeatures commands.

  • Specified a change in support for data mining models and structures.

  • Added a new value for the PREFERRED_QUERY_PATTERNS column of the MDSCHEMA_CUBES rowset to encourage implicit measures in a tabular model.

  • Added the DICTIONARY_ISPAGEABLE, DICTIONARY_ISRESIDENT, DICTIONARY_TEMPERATURE, and DICTIONARY_LAST_ACCESSED columns for the DISCOVER_STORAGE_TABLE_COLUMNS rowset.

  • Added the IGNORE_TRANSLATIONS and PRINT_ALL_TRANSLATIONS restrictions for the DISCOVER_CSDL_METADATA rowset.

In addition, the document has been revised to clarify other content.

[MS-SSAS-T]: SQL Server Analysis Server Tabular Protocol

Specifies an extension of the SQL Server Analysis Services protocol [MS-SSAS] by specifying the methods for a client to communicate with and perform operations on an analysis server that uses Tabular databases that are at compatibility level 1200 or higher.

This document has been updated for compatibility level 1600 as follows:

  • Added the DataSourceDefaultMaxConnections, SourceQueryCulture, DiscourageCompositeModels, AutomaticAggregationOptions, MaxParallelismPerRefresh, and MaxParallelismPerQuery properties to the Model object.

  • Added the MAttributes property to the Model, Partition, and Expression objects.

  • Added the LineageTag and SourceLineageTag properties to the Table, Column, Measure, Hierarchy, Level, and Expression objects.

  • Added the RefreshPolicyID, AlternateSourcePrecedence, SystemManaged, and ExcludeFromAutomaticAggregations properties to the Table object.

  • Added the ExpressionSourceID property to the Partition object.

  • Added the Altered property to the ObjectTranslation object.

  • Added the ParameterValuesColumnID property to the Expression object.

  • Added a new value for the SecurityFilteringBehavior property of the Relationship object.

In addition, the document has been revised to clarify other content.
