Feature details
The new Power BI filter pane enables report designers to customize the look and feel of filters in their Power BI reports. Designers can also lock, hide, or rename filters in the pane to ensure the best experience for their report consumers. In addition, consumers get better interactivity with filters, including a contextual pop up on every visual, helping them to understand which filters are applied. Aligned with the Desktop April release, we will automatically upgrade any reports using the old filter pane to the modern filter experience, which means it will be available to both report designers and consumers. Please note that after we auto-upgrade reports, users will not be able to revert back to the old filter pane as they will no longer be supported. We strongly recommend opting into the new experience beforehand so that the formatting can be fine-tuned before the new experience goes live.
