Get Started Guide for HPC Pack 2016 Hybrid

This guide provides basic conceptual information and general procedures for installing a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster by using Microsoft HPC Pack. With HPC Pack, you can create and manage HPC clusters consisting of dedicated on-premises compute nodes, part-time servers, workstation computers, and on-demand compute resources that are deployed in Microsoft Azure.

The steps in this guide will help you to extend your on-premises HPC Pack cluster into Azure.

Checklist: Deploy an HPC cluster

The following articles describes the steps of designing and deploying an Hybrid HPC Pack cluster.

Task Description
Burst to Azure IaaS VM Instruction to deploy azure ARM based IaaS VM from on-premises HPC Pack Cluster
Burst to Azure PaaS worker role nodes A tutorial on set up a hybrid HPC Pack Cluster with Azure Windows PaaS nodes
Burst to Azure Batch Pool A tutorial to extend your existing HCP Pack Cluster to include Azure Batch pools as compute resource
Autoscaling of Azure cloud resources Automatically grow or shrink your azure resource to save cost.
