Description
The Register-IscsiSession cmdlet registers an existing iSCSI session to make it persistent. Once an iSCSI session is registered, it automatically attempts to reconnect on restart.
Registering a connection multiple times will automatically re-establish multiple sessions for use with Multipath I/O (MPIO).
Examples
Example 1: Register an iSCSI session
PS C:\> Register-IscsiSession -SessionIdentifier "fffffa800d008430-4000013700000001"
This command registers the iSCSI session with the session ID fffffa800d008430-4000013700000001 to be persistent across restarts.
Parameters
-AsJob
Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.
The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt.
You can continue to work in the session while the job completes.
To manage the job, use the *-Job
cmdlets.
To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet.
For more information about Windows PowerShell background jobs, see about_Jobs.
