Web Application Firewalls

Updated: July 12, 2016

A Web Application Firewall (WAF) helps secure web applications by inspecting inbound web traffic to block SQL injections, Cross-Site Scripting, DDoS and other attacks. Azure Security Center may recommend that you add a web application firewall from a Microsoft partner in order to secure your web applications.

Users can configure a WAF appliance and route traffic for a web application to that WAF. Users can also view and delete WAF solutions previously deployed.

For more information on configuring WAFs using the Azure Security Center Portal, please see Add a Web Application Firewall in Azure Security Center

You can also use the Azure Security Resource Provider REST APIs to configure and manage a WAF programmatically.
