Summary

In this hands-on lab, you explored the use of the Windows Azure AppFabric Caching. You saw how to configure session state to be cached across a cache cluster, allowing sessions to be preserved in the presence of restarts and across multiple role instances hosting the application. In addition, you learnt the basics of data caching with Windows Azure AppFabric and in particular, how to cache the results of queries to a SQL Azure database. Finally, you looked at a reusable caching layer implementation that will allow you to add a caching layer to your applications in a very simple manner.
