Objectives

In this hands-on lab, you will learn how to use a SharePoint Web service to upload images to a SharePoint picture library from a Windows Phone 7 application. You will also learn how to view pictures in a picture library using the imaging Web service. Finally you will use the lists Web service to edit picture metadata.

  • Learn how to use the SharePoint imaging.asmx Web service to upload a picture from a Windows Phone 7 application.
  • Learn how to retrieve pictures from a SharePoint picture library and display them in a Windows Phone 7 application.
  • Learn how to update picture metadata using the SharePoint lists Web service.

Note: This lab uses the camera in the Windows Phone 7 emulator. The emulator’s camera simulates picture taking. The camera ability to simulate picture taking does not work on all computers.
