EDK Connector Found in Topology

The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool checks the Active Directory® directory service for Exchange Development Kit (EDK) connectors in the Exchange organization. If EDK connectors are found in Active Directory, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning. The warning indicates that EDK connectors are not supported in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

It is recommended that you contact the third-party vendor for a replacement connector product for Exchange 2007. Alternatively, you can keep an Exchange 2003 or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server to support the EDK connector.

Note

EDK connectors are third-party applications built to connect to communication systems such as fax machines, Short Message Service (SMS), telex, or to connect to other messaging systems, such as Lotus Notes, that use a gateway connector. Non-Microsoft vendors use the Exchange Development Kit (EDK) to develop proprietary connectors.
