EDK Connector Found in Topology
[This topic is intended to address a specific issue called out by the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool. You should apply it only to systems that have had the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool run against them and are experiencing that specific issue. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool, available as a free download, remotely collects configuration data from each server in the topology and automatically analyzes the data. The resulting report details important configuration issues, potential problems, and nondefault product settings. By following these recommendations, you can achieve better performance, scalability, reliability, and uptime. The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool checks the Active Directory® directory service for Exchange Development Kit (EDK) connectors in the Exchange organization. If EDK connectors are found in Active Directory, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning. The warning indicates that EDK connectors are not supported in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
It is recommended that you contact the third-party vendor for a replacement connector product for Exchange 2007. Alternatively, you can keep an Exchange 2003 or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server to support the EDK connector.
Note
EDK connectors are third-party applications built to connect to communication systems such as fax machines, Short Message Service (SMS), telex, or to connect to other messaging systems, such as Lotus Notes, that use a gateway connector. Non-Microsoft vendors use the Exchange Development Kit (EDK) to develop proprietary connectors.
