If you have to apply updates to applications in your Microsoft Office Web Apps environment, follow the steps presented in this article.

Environment Update Process

SharePoint Server 2010 and Office Web Apps running on a Server Farm

  1. Install these updates in the following order:

    1. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 (KB2460045) (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232894)

    2. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office Web Apps 2010 (KB2460073) (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232891)

    3. Description of the SharePoint Server 2010 cumulative update refresh package (SharePoint server-package): June 30, 2011 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232897)

    4. Description of the Office Web Apps hotfix package (wacwfe-x-none.msp): June 28, 2011 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=232892)

  2. After you finish applying the updates, run the SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard. Or, at a command line, on every server in the farm, run:

    psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait

  2. After you finish applying the updates, run the SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard. Or, at a command line, on every server in the farm, run:
