This section provides an overview of the components that make up the Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 4.5. The solution includes two types of components:

  • Hosted Services - The hosted services include Hosted Exchange, Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Services, and Windows SharePoint Services Hosting. These components are additional services you might offer to your customers to better improve your revenue stream.

  • Infrastructure Components - The infrastructure components provide the foundation upon which to build your services; they can help lower operational costs. The infrastructure components include centralized management, service provisioning, Microsoft Provisioning System (MPS) Deployment Tool, and monitoring and reporting.

Although the Deployment Walkthrough portion of the solution documentation describes the deployment of all solution components, you can deploy different individual components to better suit your business needs.
