Installing FEP 2010 Update Rollup 1 on a Server

This topic provides step-by-step instructions for installing Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection (FEP) 2010 on a server. To install this update, you must first download and expand Update Rollup 1 for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 for your operating system architecture from the download page (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=220766).
The following table is a list of the updates included in this package, their folder name within the package, and the computer on which they should be installed.

Note
A new version of the Configuration Manager FEP – Deployment package is installed as part of this update. Because of the new package, all computers installed with earlier versions of the FEP client software will be members of the Out of Date FEP collection.
Tip
If you want to keep your existing FEP – Deployment package, rename it before installing this update.
Prerequisites
On the computer on which the FEP reporting feature is installed, you must first install hotfix KB2554364 for your operating system architecture. For more information, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2554364 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=220240).
Warning
Once this hotfix is installed, it cannot be uninstalled.
Important
The user account running Setup is a domain account for the domain of which the FEP server is a member, has local administrative credentials, and has Configuration Manager administrative credentials. We recommend using the same account that was used to install FEP 2010 RTM.
To install Update Rollup 1 for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Server
Navigate to the folder to which you extracted the update files, and then copy the FepExt folder to the computer on which the Configuration Manager site server is installed.
On the computer on which the Configuration Manager site server is installed, run the update by navigating to the FepExt folder, and then double-clicking Setup.exe.
To install Update Rollup 1 for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Reporting
Navigate to the folder to which you extracted the update files, and then copy the FepReport folder to the computer on which the FEP reporting feature is installed.
On the computer on which the FEP reporting feature is installed, run the update by navigating to the FepReport folder, and then double-clicking Setup.exe.
Note
To complete the installation, you must restart the computer.
To install Update Rollup 1 for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Console
Navigate to the folder to which you extracted the update files, and then copy the FepUx folder to the computers on which the FEP console extension is installed.
On each computer on which the FEP console extension is installed, run the update by navigating to the FepUx folder, and then double-clicking Setup.exe.
