Publishing Office Web Apps

This topic describes how to publish an Office Web Apps server through Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG).

Note

Publishing an Office Web Apps server is only required if you are publishing SharePoint 2013 or Exchange Server 2013. For more information, see Office Web Apps Server overview.

To publish an Office Web Apps server

  1. In the Forefront UAG Management console, click the trunk through which you want to publish the Office Web Apps server, and then in the Applications area, click Add.

  2. In the Add Application Wizard, on the Select Application page, click Web, and then in the list, click Other Web application (application specific hostname).

  3. On the Select Endpoint Policies page, select the relevant download and upload policies.

  4. On the Web Servers page, do the following:

    • In the Addresses box, enter the internal host name of the Office Web Apps server. Make sure that you enter a fully qualified domain name.

    • In the Public host name box, enter the public host name of the Office Web Apps server. This name must match the external URL configured on the Office Web Apps server.

  5. On the Authentication page of the wizard, select an authentication server to authenticate users to the Office Web Apps server.

  6. On the Portal Link page of the wizard, configure the portal link for the Office Web Apps server, as required.

  7. On the Authorization page of the wizard, select which users are authorized to access this application.

  8. On the Completing the Add Application Wizard page of the wizard, click Finish.

The Add Application Wizard closes, and the application that you defined appears in the Forefront UAG Management console, in the Applications list.
