The following table shows the ToolTips notification, with a description of its purpose.

| TTN_GETDISPINFO | This notification is sent by a ToolTip control to retrieve information needed to display a ToolTip window. |
| TTN_NEEDTEXT | This notification is sent by a ToolTip control to retrieve information needed to display a ToolTip window. |
| TTN_POP | This notification notifies the owner window that a ToolTip is about to be hidden. |
| TTN_SHOW | This notification notifies the owner window that a ToolTip control is about to be displayed. |
