DisableFirstRunWizard

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2

DisableFirstRunWizard specifies whether to skip the First Run Wizard when the user runs Windows® Internet Explorer® for the first time.

The Internet Explorer First Run Wizard helps users complete the browser-installation process by prompting them to define the default search provider, the phishing filter settings, and so on.

Important

If both DisableFirstRunWizard and IEWelcomeMsg are set, the value for IEWelcomeMsg is used to determine whether the First Run Wizard is displayed. We recommend that you clear the value for IEWelcomeMsg, and use the DisableFirstRunWizard setting instead.

Note

When the user runs Internet Explorer for the first time, the user may also see the welcome page. For more information, see DisableWelcomePage.
