REG_DWORD |
|
54000 seconds (15 hours) for a client or member server; 0xFFFFFFFF for a domain controller |
Description
Specifies the largest positive time correction, in seconds, that the Windows Time service is allowed to make. If the service determines that a change larger than this is required, then the service logs an event instead.
Change Method
You can change this entry only by editing the registry.
Activation Method
To make changes to this entry effective, at the command line, type:
w32tm /config /update
Tip
- The smaller the value of this entry, the smaller the impact of erroneous time data. Since erroneous time data could be supplied maliciously, there is greater security in having a smaller value. However, a smaller value might also prevent the Windows Time service from making a larger but legitimate correction to the time.
