Message Queuing operation provides message authentication, message encryption, dead-letter queues, security settings, and other basic features. If Message Queuing has problems with any of these features, proper Message Queuing operation may suffer.

Message: The Message Queuing service rejects incoming messages when it is unable to check whether the sender is allowed access to the queue for sending messages. In this case, the queue affected is %1, but note that an event might not be issued every time this problem occurs.

Modify permissions

This event usually occurs because the MSMQ Service does not have access to the group memberships of the sending user.

Add only the computer accounts that need access to the Windows Authorization Access Group. The domain administrator will repeat this operation for other Message Queuing computers that require the permission, manually adding the relevant accounts to the Windows Authorization Access Group.

To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.

To add the MSMQ Service account:

  1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. In Active Directory Users and Computers, click Builtin, and then double-click Windows Authorization Access Group.
  3. Click the Members tab, and then add the MSMQ Service account to the members list.

Verify

Verify that the MSMQ Service is installed and running.

To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.

To verify that the MSMQ Service is installed and running:

  1. Open the Services snap-in. To open Services, click Start. In the search box, type services.msc, and then press ENTER.
  2. Locate the Message Queuing service, and confirm that the value in the Status column is Started.
