UriMapperBase Class

Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

Represents the base class for classes that convert a requested uniform resource identifier (URI) into a new URI based on mapping rules.

Inheritance Hierarchy

Namespace:  System.Windows.Navigation
Assembly:  System.Windows.Controls.Navigation (in System.Windows.Controls.Navigation.dll)

Public MustInherit Class UriMapperBase
public abstract class UriMapperBase

The UriMapperBase type exposes the following members.

  Name Description
Protected method UriMapperBase Initializes a new instance of the UriMapperBase class.

  Name Description
Public method Equals(Object) Determines whether the specified Object is equal to the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Protected method Finalize Allows an object to try to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before the Object is reclaimed by garbage collection. (Inherited from Object.)
Public method GetHashCode Serves as a hash function for a particular type. (Inherited from Object.)
Public method GetType Gets the Type of the current instance. (Inherited from Object.)
Public method MapUri When overridden in a derived class, converts a requested uniform resource identifier (URI) to a new URI.
Protected method MemberwiseClone Creates a shallow copy of the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Public method ToString Returns a string that represents the current object. (Inherited from Object.)

You create a class that derives from the UriMapperBase class when you need to implement customized logic for converting one URI into another URI. To implement customized URI mapping logic, you override the MapUri method and specify in that method how the URI is converted.

To use a customized URI mapping class in a Silverlight application, you must specify that class in the UriMapper of the Frame object.

The UriMapper class derives from UriMapperBase and provides a basic implementation for mapping a requested URI to a different URI.
