Set up default bins for a location

For a location that is set up with directed put-away and pick, all warehouse tasks are required. To process these tasks as efficiently as possible, you can set up default bins on the Bins FastTab of a location.

When you fill in specific bin numbers in the Bin Code fields, the program uses these bins as the default when receiving, putting away, adjusting, shipping, producing, and assembling items.

For example, in the Receipt Bin Code field, you entered bin W-08-0001. Consequently, if you create a warehouse receipt, the program automatically suggests receiving the item in the receiving zone on bin W-08-0001.

You can use other bins for these warehouse tasks. For example, if you don't want to receive an item on the bin that is entered in the Receipt Bin Code field, you can select another receiving bin in the warehouse receipt document. This might be required for items from a specific warehouse class that must be received on a bin from the same warehouse class.
