Create new companies with setup and demo data

If you want to get started quickly with a new company that contains setup and demo data, then the option Evaluation - Contoso Sample Data is the best choice.

You can use the Evaluation - Contoso Sample Data option in the create new company wizard, to create a company that is like the demonstration company with sample data and setup data.

The company is created with the essential functionality scope containing everything you need to evaluate the product for companies with standard processes. For example, sample invoices and ledger entries allow you to view charts and reports.

To create a new company with setup and demo data, follow these steps which are very similar to the previous units:

1. In the My Settings page, open the assist edit button to the right of the Company textbox.

2. In the allowed companies window that opens, select New and then, Create New Company.

3. The create new company wizard opens.

4. Click Next.

5. Enter a name for the new company and select the option: Evaluation Sample Data

   

6. Click Next.

7. In the next page of the wizard, select which modules you want to install and then select Next.

8. In the next page of the wizard, click Manage Users to add users to or remove users from the new company, then click Next.

9. Choose Finish to create the company. This process can take a few minutes to complete.

Create a badge for your company

Whether you just switch between two companies from time to time or if you're an accountant working with dozens of them, the colorful company badge can help you figure out where you are. Users can use the Company Badge functionality to identify one company they work with from another. This is helpful when users have multiple tabs or pop-out windows open or when they're working with multiple companies daily.

To display a company badge for quick access to company information complete the following steps.

1. Select the Search for Page icon, enter Company Information, and then select the related link.

2. On the Company Badge tab, fill in the fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.

   

3. The company badge is visible on every page, at the top right.
