License Universal Print
Universal Print is included with commercial and educational Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 Enterprise subscriptions, but can also be purchased as a standalone subscription.

Note
All users, including administrators, must be assigned one of the above licenses to use or configure Universal Print.
It may take up to 24 hours to gain access to Universal Print after purchasing and assigning an eligible license. If you see Universal Print included with at least one of your licenses, and you still cannot access Universal Print after 24 hours, please read our troubleshooting guide or contact support.

What's included with Universal Print?
All Universal Print licences grant access to the full suite of features & capabilities offered by the service.
Additionally, each license adds to a pool of print jobs that are available to all users who have a license. The number of jobs that each license contributes to the pool depends on the license type, and unused jobs expire at the end of each month:

The included quantity of jobs is enough for many companies, meaning that those companies won't need to pay additionally for print jobs.
*Student licenses that are provided through the Student Use Benefit program do not contribute additional print jobs to the pool. See the Product Terms for details about Students Use Benefits and Academic Programs.
Note
A single printed document is counted as a single print job, regardless of the number of pages or number of copies printed. Attributes such as single vs. double sided or color vs. grayscale do not affect print job count. For example, 15 copies of a 10-page document sent to the printer is counted as a single print job.
A print job is only counted when it is completed. A job is considered completed when it is successfully delivered to a printer or acquired by a 3rd party service being used with Universal Print. It is counted even if it is not picked up from the printer by the user who may be using a secure release mechanism like badge release. If a failure occurred in the Universal Print service, the job is not counted.
Example
A tenant that has 100 Microsoft 365 E3 licenses and 100 Microsoft 365 F3 licenses has a total of 5,500 jobs available each month:

Additional print volume
Some organizations print more than others on a monthly basis. If your print usage will exceed the included capacity, additional print job volume is available to be added to your organization’s pool for all users.
Customers can increase their pool of print jobs by purchasing one or more additional volume add-ons. Volume add-ons are available through all regular channels.
To view your total print volume, monitor usage, and know when you need to purchase additional volume, visit the Usage and Reports page in the Universal Print portal.
For example, a tenant with 1,000 Microsoft 365 E3 licenses and ten 500-job add-on packs will have a total of 105,000 print jobs available to users:
(1,000 licenses * 100 jobs per user per month) + (10 Add-ons * 500 jobs per month) = 105,000 jobs per month
Pricing
Customers who don’t have a subscription that includes Universal Print can buy the standalone subscription for $4 per user per month. Standard discounts are applied for EDU customers.
Additional print volume can be purchased in quantities of 500 and 10,000 jobs. All add-ons are charged monthly with an annual commitment:
