Your PC may not have the full-sized HDMI display and USB 3.0 ports needed to connect your Windows Mixed Reality headset. If that's the case, you'll need an adapter or additional PC upgrades. Refer to the list below for the different types of available adapters and some recommendations on specific models to help get you started.

If your Windows Mixed Reality headset was released after 2018, you don't need an adapter as your controllers are capable of pairing directly to the headset.
Headsets released prior to 2018 need an adapter for pairing motion controllers to them. If your PC doesn't include Bluetooth for pairing Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers, you can use an adapter like the Pluggable USB Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Micro Adapter.

You can use Windows Mixed Reality headsets with an external USB 3.0 hub if your PC doesn't have enough open USB ports. The external USB 3.0 hub must be externally powered via an AC adapter to provide enough power to the headset.
