Hello,

I wanted to know if there is a way to make the screen saver (bubbles) to show on my display without making the screen go black and show the bubbles for the screen saver - i believe it was windows 9 or 10 that would show the screen saver such as bubbles pop automatic after bein inactive for 1 minute. Thanks. Do i need to remove sleep and never sleep on? please help thanks!

Thanks for the screenshots.

The information confirms that your Intel UHD Graphics 605 runs on WDDM 2.5. That means it doesn't support Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, a feature introduced with WDDM 2.7.

Because of this limitation, the Bubbles screensaver shows a black background instead of the transparent effect seen on systems with full hardware acceleration. It's not a bug; it's just that the GPU doesn't support the feature required to render it transparently.

Since it's an all-in-one PC, upgrading the GPU isn't an option. So, unless Intel releases a driver update that adds support (which is unlikely for this model), the black background will remain the default behavior.

    Thanks for the screenshot.

    Since your device is a Lenovo, I suggest using Lenovo Vantage.

    Download and install Lenovo Vantage using the Microsoft Store (Link below). Then, use it to update and install/update all the drivers on your PC.

    You need to install Lenovo Vantage and then use it to install/update your drivers. Just installing the app will not install/update the drivers.

    After installing/updating all drivers, restart your PC and see if there is any change in screen saver behavior.

    If you still have a black screen, go back to the menu we discussed earlier and see if you now have the "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" option and enable it.

    By the way, you can use the shortcut I mentioned earlier to use the Screenshot Tool and take smaller screenshots without exposing your personal information. The Microsoft Q&A is public.

    Thanks for the clarification.

    This might be happening because hardware acceleration is disabled on your system, or you're missing the proper graphics driver.

    Enable Hardware Acceleration:

    1. Open Settings (Windows + I);
    2. Go to "System > Display";
    3. Scroll down and click "Graphics";
    4. Click "Change default graphics settings" and turn on "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling";
    5. Restart your PC.

    After restarting your PC, test to see how the screen saver behaves.

    Let me know the result.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    If the screensaver is set to activate after 1 minute of inactivity and sleep mode is set to 5 minutes, the computer/monitor will enter sleep mode 4 minutes after the screensaver starts. To prevent this and keep the screensaver visible, sleep mode should be set to "Never".

    If you're using a laptop, make sure to set Sleep mode to "Never" for both "On battery power" and "When plugged in".

    The Screen Saver settings are a bit tucked away in Windows 11. To access them, right-click on your desktop and choose "Personalize". Then navigate to "Lock screen" and click on "Screen saver" at the bottom.
